My name is Marianne Willemsen, I go to Ipswich School and have recently just finished my GCSE’S. I planned to come to Whybrow Chartered Surveyors for a week of work experience, which hopefully would help me and give me ideas about my career plan. Whybrow Chartered Surveyors are a company which I thought would be very useful to do my work experience with, as there are many different parts and opportunities that I could see myself helping with.

On Monday, when I arrived I was met by Laura at reception who welcomed me, showed me around the office and introduced me to all the staff. For the first two days I was with the Agency Team, where I used one of their computer systems to view properties, which allowed me to learn about some of the properties which they managed. I also helped Coralie and Laura in the office doing jobs and helping with files. On Wednesday and Thursday, I was with the Property Team which meant I was able to visit lots of the properties throughout Colchester. I enjoyed this as it allowed me to get out and see the properties which are managed. On Friday, I was with Laura at Reception, doing other jobs such as helping with keys and helping around the office.

Work Experience with Whybrow Chartered Surveyors enabled me to understand and learn more about the business and experience all the departments . From doing work experience, it has given me a better idea of what career path I may choose or what I may do for my career plans. I had a great time at Whybrow Chartered Surveyors and enjoyed meeting all the staff.
