"One of the many issues raised by the A120 campaign by our supporters was the question of safety on the route in the vicinity of Pellens Corner in Tendring.

I was delighted to learn today that Highways England have now developed a scheme to address this.

That scheme will be the subject of a public information event and I am taking this opportunity to bring that to your attention in case you want to attend or to find out more.

The plans involve building a new two lane roundabout at Harwich Road and preventing right turn manoeuvres by closing gaps in the central reserve at Pellens Corner. New crossing points for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders are also proposed as part of these important safety measures.

The Public Information Event will be held on Wednesday 19 August between 2pm and 8pm at Great Bromley Village Hall, Parsons Hill, Great Bromley, Colchester CO7 7JA."
