German Doner Kebab Open First Doors in Suffolk

Tuesday, 14 November 2017

Acting for private clients, Whybrow have granted a new lease to German Doner Kebab (GDK) in Westgate Street, Ipswich. The tenant was represented by McKinnon Nelson Property Consultants.

Having secured planning consent for a change of use to Class A3 (Restaurant), the Tenants have taken a new 10 year lease on a unit in Suffolk. Acting for the Landlords, Whybrow managed the lease surrender from Sports direct and the grant of the new lease to GDK who are now working on the unit fit out prior to trading.

Caxtons, the managing agents for the Landlords said “We were extremely pleased with the service provided by Whybrow throughout this transaction; they sourced a tenant for the property within a short time frame and negotiated strong terms on our behalf. They assisted through the conveyancing process, despite some unforeseen issues, and difficult circumstances, and eventually we reached completion with their input and support. They were an intrinsic part in ensuring the deal was successful”.

GDK have 40 units across the world, opening their first unit in 1989 in Berlin. Being a fast food retailer, they are looking forward to trading in Ipswich.
