Ipswich School have just acquired a substantial property on Henley Road, Ipswich from the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, immediately adjacent to the School grounds.

Whybrow Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants in Essex acted for the Trust in this freehold sale to the School. Ivry House which was formerly used for clinical purposes is situated at the junction with Henley Road and Ivry Street and comprises a substantial Edwardian house with a two storey conversion providing a net internal area of circa 6,000 sq ft with rear parking. Located in a high quality residential area, and close to Christchurch Park, this property attracted a vast amount of interest when offered by informal tender. Fenn Wright acted for the School. Paul Wranek, the School Bursar, said “Whilst we have no immediate plans this was an excellent opportunity to acquire a building close to our existing site, supporting the strategic development of the School.”

Ewan Dodds BSc FRICS, CEO of Whybrow commented that ‘’Our clients were thrilled that the sale of this property completed so smoothly to Ipswich School, and we hope this will allow them to further extend their educational excellence and services to their students’’.
