Largest Commercial Land Sale in North Essex

Acting for a private family business, Whybrow have completed one of the largest land transactions in north Essex for some years, the freehold sale of a 16 acre (6.5 Hectare) commercial site in Gorse Lane, Clacton on Sea to the regional business, Silverton Aggregates.


This commercial brownfield site is located on the edge of the town’s largest industrial estate, which also houses the Clacton Common shopping centre and a range of major occupiers.


The land benefits from existing planning permission for General Industrial and Warehousing & Distribution uses on part of the site, and having been offered as a whole and in parts, Whybrow agreed sale terms with Silverton Aggregate for the entire site.


Ewan Dodds BSC FRICS, surveyor at Whybrow acting for the Vendor, stated “We are of course delighted to bring this large and prestigious transaction to a successful conclusion thanks to the diligent efforts of both our clients and the purchasers with able assistance also from Tendring District Council. Although a much lengthier process than anticipated, I am pleased at the perseverance of all parties are pleased with the outcome”.


Silverton Aggregates confirmed that they are delighted with their recent land purchase stating “It is very important to us to keep our growing business in the local area and acquiring this land has enabled us to do so as we continue to expand.”
