Whybrow Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants have introduced an established tea room business for their long established clients, Wilkin & Sons from the owner Derek Thompson. The Courtyard, in the heart of the historic Saffron Walden town centre has become the latest property in Wilkin & Sons portfolio, and will be their sixth tea room in Essex.

Extending to some 1,200sq.ft. and with over 70 internal and external covers, Whybrow secured the premises by way of a lease and undisclosed premium.  A popular location for local shoppers and visitors seeking home-cooked lunches and teas, The Courtyard’s outside seating is a great place to meet in summer, whilst offering cream teas, cakes and lunches.

“We are delighted to have introduced the right location in Saffron Walden for the sixth Tiptree Tea Room” said Ian Thurgood joint managing director of Wilkin & Sons Ltd.  “Each Tiptree tea room has its own distinct character and we are looking forward to working with present owner Derek Thompson, who plans to continue his involvement for the coming months.

Ewan Dodds, CEO of Whybrow has stated that he is ‘‘delighted to introduce this acquisition for our valued clients Wilkin & Sons, and is thrilled to see this local company expanding into new locations within Essex.’’

The introduction of this much desired tearoom is located in Saffron Walden, which is home to Bridge End Garden, Audley End House, Saffron Walden Museum, to name a few. Whybrow are very pleased that they found the right location for the sixth tearoom, and are now looking forward to working with Wilkin & Sons on further acquisitions in the future.
